An opportunity to purchase an owner-occupier croft with beautiful sea views, extending to 6.277 hectares on the scenic Stoer peninsula in North Assynt. Situated 100 miles north west of Inverness, off the B869 Lochinver to Drumbeg coastal road, the quiet beach at Balchladich is only a few minutes walk from the croft. Nearby are the popular sandy beaches at Clachtoll, Clashnessie and Achmelvich, and the lighthouse at Stoerhead.
Stoer Primary school is less than a mile away, while children of secondary school age are transported daily to Ullapool High School by bus. Rhu Stoer Village Hall hosts ceilidhs and other events. There are shops, bars, hotels and leisure centre with gym in Lochinver 9 miles to the south, including the 5* Inver Lodge Hotel and Chez Roux restaurant, and the renowned Albannach Hotel with its Michelin Star restaurant. Seven miles to the east, the village of Drumbeg has a hotel with public bar and an award winning local shop. Kylesku with its hotel and boat trips is 40 minutes’ drive. There is a Tesco supermarket and leisure centre with swimming pool an hour away in Ullapool.
The total extent of the croft 184 is 6.277 hectares or 15.5 acres.
The croft is in good order, currently comprising two separate fields on either side of the quiet single track public road. There is access to a fresh water loch, Loch na Claise, at the bottom of the croft, and to the common grazings on Meall Dearg at the top.
The boundaries of the croft are as shown shaded in blue on the plan overleaf.
The croft land is being sold as an owner-occupied croft and therefore the consent of the Crofting Commission to the sale is not required. However, crofting regulations will apply after sale.
