Martin Burns joins Inksters

22 March 2024

Inksters have strengthened our family law team with the addition of Martin Burns in Linlithgow.

Mr Burns has over 30 years’ experience as a solicitor. For 15 of those years he was a sole practitioner at the Bathgate Family Law Practice. A law firm that he established where the focus was solely on family law.

Now coming under Inksters’ umbrella, as a self-employed consultant, Mr Burns can benefit from all that a larger law firm provides including the referral to him of family law matters from Inksters’ offices throughout Scotland.

Mr Burns said, “I’m delighted to be joining a modern and dynamic firm like Inksters, and looking forward to the challenge of helping clients all over Scotland on family law matters.”

Brian Inkster, CEO of Inksters, said, “I am very pleased to welcome Martin Burns to our team. He is the first of many new consultant solicitors that we expect to join the firm in 2024 as we continue to realise our ambitious expansion plans. Family law is a much needed area of the law and we have many clients throughout Scotland that can now benefit from Martin’s expertise.”

Inksters have developed a ‘plug and play law’ model where senior lawyers can work as a collective, with enhanced technology and back-office support. Where a hub-and-spoke model exists with a back office ‘hub’ (in Glasgow) and ‘spokes’ elsewhere (currently in Aberdeen, Dunkeld, Edinburgh, Forfar, Inverness, Lerwick, Linlithgow, Portree, Renfrew, Thurso and Wick).

Inksters won both the Scottish and the UK Self-employed / Sole Trader of the Year Award from the Federation of Small Businesses in 2022 for their model that allows sole traders to flourish under their umbrella.
