Karima Higgins specialises in commercial legal work, commercial contracts, data protection, company secretarial work and corporate finance.
She brings over 20 years of experience in private practice, in-house and, since 2018, as a freelance contractor.
Karima has a proven track record in drafting and negotiating all types of commercial agreements, providing calculated, strategic, legal advice, and leading business audits; across a range of industries. Exceptionally strong communication skills and extremely adept at interacting with junior staff to senior management and external parties.
Having started life as a corporate/corporate finance solicitor, in private practice, Karima Higgins spent 15 years in house; latterly 10 years as director of legal services of a national recruitment company, responsible for its legal and compliance function. For the last 8 years she provided her services on a freelance/interim basis. She spent 6 months as a GDPR specialist for STV and was then engaged to troubleshoot and take over the running of a law firm's commercial dept, as interim director and strategist. Thereafter, she oversaw the legal work for an £8,000,000 property development, acting for the lender. Since then, she has worked for various other clients, throughout various industries, as required (including Dobbies Garden Centres, Met Office, AFS Logistics, Travelodge and many more). In 2025 she brought that extensive experience to Inksters.
